And number one by a mile:
The sound of an egg carton (cardboard is bad, styrofoam is worse) rubbing against a paper grocery bag.
Max hates the sound of silverware rubbing together, but what a coincidence--putting away silverware from the dishwasher happens to be his chore.Sean's vote: his sister singing Glee karaoke.
What sounds make you squirm?
I am right there with you on the silverware on ceramic dishware... omggggg.... that drives me insane!!!!
ReplyDeleteSister singing Glee... HA!!! Hadn't even thought about the egg carton... ewwwww. Orangies Attic
ReplyDeleteThe sounds of balloons rubbing together, or the sound when a balloon twister is making an animal.

I'm with you about the silverware. And chalkboards. Our A/C also makes this weird rattle when the cooling cycle kicks on, and it just drives me crazy.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the same page of you with styrofoam sounds. The sound of knuckles cracking makes me shiver too!

I'm trying to come up with something and ya'll have it covered. Can I use the sound of our 5 year-old's feet hitting the floor too early in the morning?
ReplyDeleteOh yes, definitely the chalkboard. Just thinking about it makes a shiver go up my spine. I concur that the sound of a knife or fork skidding across a china plate also causes my skin to crawl.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I've never gotten used to is the ultra-high squeal that little girls can emit when they're excited, happy, angry, annoyed or all of the above ... how do they do it? I'm sure it must be in the octave range of shattering crystal and glass!
Very easy! The sound of chewing drives me nuts. It's gross when people chew with their mouth open.
